The Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Redmond, Oregon was founded in 1979. It is part of an internal Catholic lay association that helps people who are in need.
The Society has operations in 142 countries with over one million members (called Vincentians) worldwide. Help is available to all regardless of religious belief or background. We are a non-profit organization serving the community of Redmond, Oregon.
Founded in Paris in 1833, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has a rich history rooted in the values inspired by the Gospel. Our mission is to alleviate suffering and promote human dignity. The Society was established by a group of dedicated individuals led by Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, a young French scholar, who wanted to put their faith into action by serving the poor.
St. Vincent de Paul Redmond continues this noble tradition by sharing a deep concern for the suffering of those in our community. Guided by the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, the patron saint of charitable societies, we are committed to providing compassionate support and assistance to those in need.
Our Vincentians, who are volunteers of the Society, offer both spiritual and material support on a person-to-person basis. This unique approach ensures that we address not only the immediate needs of those we serve but also their emotional and spiritual well-being. Over the years, we have expanded our services to include a food pantry, financial assistance, a thrift store, a Giving Closet, the Laundry Project, and a propane voucher program.
We believe that every act of kindness makes a difference, and our history is a testament to the power of compassion and the enduring impact of giving. As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to our mission of serving those in need and strengthening our community through acts of love and charity.
